What is windows registry?

How to do I know, I need a registry cleaner?

How often should I scan?

It is recommended that you scan your PC with RegAce regularly at least once a day to obtain best results.

What is scheduled scan?

Scheduled scan is a feature which helps you to configure RegAce to scan your PC for any registry errors on your desired times.

What is registry backup and restore?

Whenever RegAce repairs the problems from your registry, it creates a backup of removed keys. You can always restore those keys if you think that any key is removed wrongly. You can also remove the stored backups when you think they are no longer needed.

What is automatic repair and shutdown?

Automatic repair and shutdown after repair are the options you can find in options tab. When set they tell RegAce to repair the problem keys automatically without user interaction when it completes the scan. Shutdown after repairs closes RegAce after it has finished repairing. These two options are very useful in combination with scheduled scan option.

What is start on startup option?

This option tells RegAce to start automatically when windows start.

What is ignore list?

You can also select certain problem registry entries and decide not to repair rather put in an ignore list so that they are not detected again. You can view the ignore list, remove entries from that. Ignore list usage is advised for advanced computer users.

Can I scan custom registry categories?

Yes RegAce provides the facility to scan only those categories which you want to. On scanner screen you will see check boxes with the registry categories. You can un-check any box this will tell RegAce not to scan this particular category in next registry scan. RegAce saves your last category selection settings.

How to remove RegAce from my computer?

To remove RegAce from your computer, please follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add or Remove Programs.
  2. In the Currently installed programs box, find and click on RegAce, and then click Remove.
  3. If you are prompted to confirm the removal of the program, click Yes.

Can RegAce delete viruses?

RegAce is not a virus removal program. However, sometimes RegAce can fix some of the damage caused by viruses and malware. For example, RegAce can remove virus leftovers that your antivirus failed to delete from the registry. To keep your system virus-free, we suggest using virus removal software first, and then running RegAce to get rid of any leftovers and perform general PC cleanup.

Can RegAce fix BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) errors?

RegAce can fix some BSOD errors, but only if they were caused by problems in the Windows registry. Please remember that most BSOD errors are caused by hardware failures, driver problems, corrupted files, poorly written software and so on. If that's the case with your particular BSOD, RegAce won't be able to help because it can't fix your hardware, software and driver issues.
